Bring your camera along for a drive east among gently rolling hills to small towns in Massachusetts and New Hampshire dotted with age-old taverns, colonial churches, farms and prairies, all featuring a beautiful display of autumn’s stunning colors. Visit Willard Brook State Forest, explore a quaint New England tavern nestled among the mountains, and enjoy a guided visit of an apple orchard to see how local cider is made. Your guide will navigate fall’s changing colors as you tour across Boston, making stops in quiet New England towns along the way for you to capture photos of the brilliant landscape.

You’ll be picked up from your Boston hotel in the morning and taken on a comfortable drive by air-conditioned coach through the New England countryside. Experience the beauty of this amazing region during autumn as you travel amongst gently rolling hills awash with vibrant reds, oranges, yellows, browns and greens. On board, your guide will detail the changing colors of the foliage around you as you tour Boston.
Travel past quiet ponds and lakes, centuries-old farms, vast prairies, weathered roadside taverns and unique colonial churches. Stop for coffee at a local coffee shop in Groton (own expense), and then spend time visiting Willard Brook State Forest, a Massachusetts state park located in Ashby and Townsend about 50 miles (80 km) from Boston. Continue to Ashby Common, a small park and church located in a quiet neighborhood, for more photo opportunities.
Next, visit a quaint tavern nestled in the heart of the mountains in New Hampshire to stretch your legs, wander around at your leisure, and enjoy lunch (own expense). Continue to the small New Hampshire town of Peterborough for another scenic photo stop before finishing your afternoon with a visit to an apple orchard to see how apples are grown and made into cider. Spend 30 minutes exploring the orchard with your guide and browsing the farm stand, picking out any fresh local items that catch your eye (own expense).
After your tour, continue enjoying the scenery on your way back to your hotel, arriving around 6pm.
This tour is seasonal and only operates from September through October.
