Christmas in Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath

Location: London, United Kingdom

Duration: 11 hours

Do something different on Christmas Day and spend some time exploring the ancient sites of England. Start at the royal residence of Windsor Castle before exploring the mysterious Stonehenge circle – now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a traditional Christmas lunch, end your day discovering the beautiful Georgian City of Bath.

Start your Christmas tour at the Royal Borough of Windor, for a walking tour around this majestic town. Here you will see Windsor Castle – built high above the River Thames, which has been home to the Royal Family for over 900 years.

Continue to Stonehenge. Clouded in mystery, the ancient stone circle of Stonehenge is an amazing feat of engineering and an important prehistoric site. But beyond its archaeological significance and possible astronomical role, Stonehenge is also a place of spiritual importance. Early legends link it with Merlin and King Arthur, but over the last hundred years the midsummer sunrise has attracted pagan groups and followers of the Ancient Order of Druids.

Enjoy a traditional 3 course Christmas Meal with all the trimmings in a beautiful Wiltshire town, close to the Stonehenge site.

Then you will travel to the beautiful Georgian City of Bath and take a panoramic tour of some of the finest architectural sights in Europe, including Bath Abbey, the Crescents, the Circus, Assembly Rooms and the famous Pulteney Bridge. Explore the Roman Baths, built around thermal springs, which have been supplying water for over 2,000 years. In Roman times a great Temple was built next to the sacred spring – the waters were believed to have healing properties and attracted visitors from across the Roman Empire.

Please note:
Windsor and Stonehenge are closed on Christmas Day but you will view them from the outside
